    The Arts Society Gravesend was formed so that people who enjoy learning about all aspects of the arts could get together and hear high quality lectures given by experts in their chosen field. Today, 32 years on from that first meeting, we still aim to inform and inspire our members with talks on subjects as diverse as the fine arts, sculpture, photography, architecture, jewellery, ceramics, glassware, textiles, dance, music and so much more - the list is endless!

  • Athena Circus Academy – Aerial & Circus for Kids

    Not your average after school club! Does your child climb hang off everything? Do they dream about joining the Circus? 

    Athena Circus Academy provides fun, safe, and empowering circus training for children and young people. Classes include aerial hoop, silks, sling, trapeze, loops, and creative circus skills, with options for SEN and home-education groups. Our focus is on confidence-building, coordination, creativity, and giving every child the chance to shine. Students also have opportunities to perform in our in-house shows, competitions and our large-scale Circesque theatre production.

    Burlesque style dance to release your inner goddess - join our sassy sisterhood.

    Welcome to Gravesend Goddesses, a burlesque inspired dance class full of sassy individuals. Join us Monday and Thursday nights at 8pm-9pm, for 4 week routines. Learn a new routine every 4 weeks, using choreography, props, some chair and floorwork. All routines are choreographed with abilities in mind, and alternative segments are provided if individuals are not able.

    Be part of an amazing women led community, where we dance, laugh and make lifelong friendships.

    We are an 18+ class, and spaces can be booked on our website www.gravesendgoddesses.co.uk,  we run a 4 week routine at just £25.

At Vigo, we also have a crisp packet project to produce insulated sleeping blankets and bags for homeless people. 
Volunteers are welcome to spend an hour or two with us..

  • Autism South East hosted by Maries Tea Room

    Maries Tea Room, High St, Gravesend

    We understand that as an autistic adult, it can be difficult to make friends or even find people to talk to. Our Gravesend adult group, held at Marie’s Tea Room, offers an opportunity for anyone aged 18 and over who is autistic or thinks they might be to meet others in a calm, supportive, and understanding environment, free from judgement.

    This social group will usually run on the last Tuesday of every month at Marie’s Tea Room.

    Thursday from 1–3pm

    Our weekly home education session runs every Thursday from 1–3pm, offering a fun and engaging space for young people to learn, play, and socialise. To keep things fresh, the activities alternate each week — rotating between laser tag, coding, gaming, and coding again giving children a mix of active, creative, and tech-based experiences. It’s a great way for home-educated learners to build confidence, develop new skills, and make friends in a relaxed environment.

    Wednesdays 7pm – 9pm (over 16s) & Sundays 10am – 12pm (all ages).

    Enjoy two hours in our gaming zone, featuring a mix of modern gaming setups, such as high-performance PCs, PS5s, VR stations (free to use if not already pre booked), and racing simulators, alongside a fantastic collection of classic consoles like the Atari, NES, Sega Mega Drive, and Super Nintendo (SNES). We also offer a variety of arcade games! With all the classic titles and a growing selection, there’s something for gamers of all ages to enjoy.
